I consider myself a pretty bright guy. I'll never build a particle accelerator or design a spaceship, but I can at least consider myself to be above average. So, why don't I understand how money works. I know that I need it to pay rent, and buy booze, food and lottery tickets, but I just don't get where the hell it comes from. I just don't. I could more easily learn to speak Russian than ever be fluent in how the hell the economy functions.
So, where the fuck, in what I've been told are hard economic times, do we get a trillion dollars for "economic stimulus"? Right now, the liberals (allegedly, my people) are trying too hard to live up to their "tax and spend" reputation. Are they trying to counteract 8 years of ridiculous Republican extremism with ridiculous Democratic extremism? It's not going to work.

- I was born politically active. As a child, I was marching in Washington with my mother protesting whatever cause seemed worth marching for. For many years, I volunteered and worked for LEPOCO in Bethlehem, PA. In my formative years, I was raised in the Quaker tradition, and although I consider myself an atheist today, I still hold their values of pacifism and social justice very close to my heart. I also ended up with several years of Friends' School education, first at George School in Newtown, PA, then at Earlham College in Richmond, Indiana. Now, many years later, I'm a law student with the expectation that I will be spending the rest of my life in public service. This blog will be the sounding board for my frustration, anger, and sometimes elation at the current political climate in this country. I can't believe it took me this long. This blog will alternate between the personal and the political, and between the funny and the serious. It will be my outlet when no one else is around to hear me.
